AutoCAD offers four primary views: 2D drafting and design, 3D modeling, engineering documentation, and animation.
From the Get Started screen in AutoCAD, the user is presented with the opportunity to try out the application without having to buy or register it.
Before using the software, a user should select the preferences from the option menu in the top left of the main window, as shown below.
Once the preferences are selected, the user can start working in one of the four views by clicking on View.

Alternatively, the user can choose an existing drawing or file by clicking on the Browse button. A list of available files is displayed.
After selecting a file, the user has the option to Open a file that is already open or Open a new file.

The User Interface (UI) is the most visible part of the program. This includes the menu which is displayed when the user selects View, Edit or Add menu item. The most prominent item in this menu is the Status bar which is divided into two parts, a top bar and a bottom bar. The top bar shows the current status of the user interaction with the software, and the bottom bar provides information on the availability of the toolbars and windows. Hurricane Joaquin is expected to be near the northeast U.S. coast with 70-mph sustained winds by Thursday night, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The hurricane’s expected track could cause “life-threatening storm surge flooding, and mudslides,” which are due to strong winds pushing ocean water inland.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan issued the alert in the early evening on Thursday, warning residents that Joaquin is expected to impact the area as early as Wednesday night.
