A new panel appears, letting you write down text on the spot, or paste from clipboard. Import and export functions aren’t implemented though.
Notes themselves are pretty straightforward, with no possibility to minimize them. Colors can’t be changed, nor the text style used. The window can’t be configured to stay on top of everything else. Creating more notes is simply done by running the program again, but you can assign a hotkey command to its shortcut for faster access.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Extranote is a stylish note to keep on your desktop, but practicality isn’t as shiny as the interface. Only a small amount of text remains visible. There aren’t any customization options, and it can get frustrating to run the program every time you want a new note on the desktop.

Extranote is an extension for Windows that allows you to add multiple notes with a simple click, and to access your notes offline. All notes that are saved locally appear on the desktop as well.
In this article I’m going to review a program called Extranote from a.NET developer. From this review you can decide if this app is something for you or not.
Extranote is an extender for Windows. It can make notes, and it can open them offline. That is a pretty useful feature, as you can leave your computer running without an internet connection, and if your internet connection goes down, you can still save your notes.
Some software that has the ability to do this, is putty, evernote, chrome and dropbox. This application will allow you to make notes and it will save them locally. But there’s no way to see what the notes are.
This is a good program for users that have been using Windows 7, because Windows 8+ doesn’t come with these programs built-in. I’m planning on getting a Windows 8.1 machine in the near future, so I might be a windows 8+ user.
Extranote doesn’t have any options to make the app look any different. But what it has is that it uses the glass look-and-feel, as most Windows 8.1 programs do. The background can be changed to whatever you want.
So what I like about Extranote, is that it is easy to use, and you can create as many notes as you want. I use it all the time.
You can add as many notes as you want, by pressing F2. And then it will ask you if you want to create a new note, or open an existing one.
If you go to File, you can add a new note, in which you can put anything you want to.
With every note you make, you can add tags and users. And what you can do, is share the notes with your friends via Email. Which is an awesome feature.
I’m currently using the “Business” version of this program, because it has all the features that a home user would need.
